Mousa Afshar, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated today that the mullahs' regime, under the crushing blows it is receiving in the ongoing external war and following the death of the executioner Khamenei, is living in a state of unprecedented panic over the explosion of popular anger that threatens to uproot the foundations of its tyranny.
Afshar said: "The statements of Ahmadreza Radan, the Commander-in-Chief of the regime's repressive security forces—in which he labeled any citizen who takes to the streets as an 'enemy' and ordered his forces to keep their fingers on the trigger—is an official admission that the real war the mullahs fear is not on the geographic borders, but in the streets of Iranian cities against a people demanding their freedom."
He added: "Following the death of Khamenei, Tehran and major cities have been transformed into military barracks in a scene that reflects the existential dread experienced by the Velayat-e Faqih regime. The militarization of the capital and the proliferation of Basij and IRGC checkpoints are nothing but a desperate attempt to prevent a recurrence of the nightmare of the January 2026 uprising that shook the pillars of power."
He continued: "What terrifies the leaders of repression today is not just protests, but the presence of an organized resistance in the heart of the cities. The Resistance Units continue to strengthen their strategic capabilities, gathering intelligence and conducting targeted operations against the machinery of suppression, in preparation for the decisive moment that will be imposed by the Iranian people."
Afshar explained: "While the external war is destroying the regime's military machine, the mullahs view Iranian society as their primary enemy. This war, which the regime has explicitly declared against its own citizens, is the final battle—a war that will only end with the conclusion of a forty-seven-year occupation and the total dismantling of the repressive apparatus."
Afshar emphasized: "Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has clearly drawn the roadmap by announcing the formation of the Provisional Government and adhering to the 10-point plan to ensure the transition of sovereignty to the people and the establishment of a democratic republic based on the ballot box, not on the Velayat-e Faqih or the tyranny of the Shah."
Afshar concluded: "The mullahs' regime has reached a dead end; it can temporarily intimidate passersby with tanks and gunmen, but it is incapable of confronting the will of a people determined to achieve democratic change. The era of Velayat-e Faqih is over, and the Resistance Units are the striking force that will transform the society's anger into a new dawn for a Free Iran."
