The Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed that the sanctions imposed by the Group of Seven (G7) against Russia have sparked a food and energy crisis in the world and that the needy countries suffer from Western obstacles to the access of Russian products to them.

The ministry said in a statement on the results of the summit: "The mechanism of collective sanctions pressure established by the G7 has become a cause of the global food and energy crisis.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the main result of the summit was a set of anti-Russian and anti-Chinese statements.

The ministry noted that the G7 was once a gathering whose members coordinate positions on various issues on the global agenda, but it has now suffered an irreversible decline.

The G7 summit was held in Hiroshima from May 19 to 21. In addition to the leaders of the group's countries, the heads of seven organizations received invitations to attend: the United Nations, the International Energy Agency, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and Trade Organization.
