Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov affirmed today that Russia is prepared to offer practical assistance in any potential agreements between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that the agreement will be viable.
The Russian news agency Sputnik quoted Ryabkov as saying, "Given the current situation and amidst multifaceted diplomatic efforts, Russia is working through available channels and maintaining its operational readiness to provide practical assistance in implementing the future agreement."
He added, "We hope that the potential agreement discussed in recent days and weeks—a framework memorandum of understanding and a defined phased approach to resolving outstanding issues—will prove effective. It is essential to avoid escalation and prevent military confrontation from spiraling into another cycle of violence."
