The Russian capital Moscow has rolled out a new promotional campaign aimed at boosting tourism from the Arab world, with Arabic-language posters and signs welcoming visitors across the city’s streets and metro stations.

According to Alqahera News, the campaign features posters bearing the phrase “Welcome to Moscow” in Arabic, alongside symbols representing both Arab and Russian culture. Among them are images of the traditional Arabian coffee pot (dallah) and the iconic Russian matryoshka doll, serving as a symbolic bridge between East and West.

As part of the initiative, Moscow’s transport authority announced the release of an Arabic version of the city’s metro map for the first time, designed to make navigation easier for tourists arriving from Arab countries.

The campaign has already drawn strong engagement from Arab visitors, many of whom have been seen taking photos beside the posters and sharing them on social media. Observers say this response highlights Moscow’s growing appeal as a summer travel destination, particularly for Gulf tourists seeking to escape soaring temperatures in their home countries.

The move underscores Russia’s efforts to diversify its tourism sector by tapping into new markets, with Arab travelers increasingly seen as a key audience for the capital’s cultural and leisure offerings.
