Moscow Hosts Landmark International Cadet Ball

Moscow has hosted the tenth anniversary International Charity Cadet Ball, a major cultural and diplomatic event that brought together young participants from 63 countries, underscoring Russia’s efforts to promote international dialogue through shared historical and cultural traditions, according to TV BRICS.

Held at the historic Gostiny Dvor, the large-scale celebration welcomed around 3,400 cadets and students, including delegations from India, Brazil, Egypt, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and several African nations. The annual event is dedicated to reviving classical cultural traditions while fostering cooperation and friendship among young people from different parts of the world.

The International Cadet Ball is held with the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who addressed participants in a written message. He said the event plays an important role in strengthening the global cadet community, preserving national and historical heritage, and instilling values of honor, loyalty, and integrity in younger generations.

Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the distinctly international character of the gathering, noting its role in building cultural bridges at a time of heightened global tensions.

Guests included top students from Russian cadet corps and departmental universities, alongside international participants for whom the Ball offered a first immersion into the traditions of classical ballroom culture. Many described the experience as both memorable and inspiring.

Gaudensia Mdolo, a student at RUDN University from Zambia, said the diversity of participants set the event apart. She noted that while she had attended other formal balls, the Moscow gathering stood out for its unique atmosphere and sense of global unity.

A student from Nigeria, Osayogie Godswill, echoed that sentiment, describing the Ball as an exciting and joyful experience that allowed him to engage more deeply with a lifelong passion for dance.

Beyond the formal dances, the anniversary program featured performances by well-known artists and a wide-ranging cultural agenda designed to showcase Moscow’s artistic heritage to visiting guests. Organizers said the event reaffirmed the Ball’s mission as a platform for cultural exchange, youth engagement, and international understanding.
