Zamalek's former chairman Mortada Mansour said on Monday that he left the White Knights with EGP 18 million in their treasury.
In a statement, Mansour denied the rumors, which claimed that the White Knights have only one million in their treasury
"From Counselor Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek club, to everyone who tries to mislead the fans and members of the General Assembly of Zamalek Club and deceive them by lying, and claiming that the club’s treasury had only one million Egyptian pounds in it," Mansour said.
Mansour Continued that he left the club with 10 million pounds that were sent by the "Al-Masry" club and about 4 million pounds were sent by Al-Ittihad Club of Alexandria, in addition to 4 million pounds which were in the treasury from the earnings of subscriptions.
The former Zamalek's chairman affirmed that the club’s treasury had about 18 million pounds, not a million, in addition to 111 million pounds owed to the club by the sponsoring company from last July, and about 23 million pounds, which is the reward of the Zamalek team for obtaining the second position in the CAF Champions League.
He also added that there were 8 millions pounds from the fine signed by the Football Association on former Zamalek goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawi, and 32 million pounds is the value of the fine that FIFA signed on the fugitive player Mahmoud Kahraba.
Mansour concluded with denying all the rumours that were circulated recently, saying that Zamalek has 192 million pounds and the club's new administration could not contract with any player since the transfer market opened until it was closed except for those who signed with Amir Mortada; Hamza al-Mathlouthi, the return of Ahmed Fattouh and Hamid Ahdad.
