Local authorities in the northern Moroccan city of Ksar El Kebir have raised the alert level to its highest point due to heavy rains and flash floods, coinciding with a mobilization in the Sidi Kacem region in the northwest of the country.
The Moroccan Ministry of Equipment and Water stated that efforts are ongoing in Ksar El Kebir to protect residential areas threatened by flooding.
The head of the city council urged residents to exercise extreme vigilance and caution, and called on those who can evacuate to do so immediately.
Measures to address the effects of the severe weather included the deployment of the army to assist residents in the affected areas.
