The death toll from the Moroccan earthquake has risen to 2,012 people, Moroccan state TV said early on Sunday, citing a statement from the interior ministry.
He added that the number of injured rose to 2,059, including 1,404 people in critical condition.
Rescue teams are struggling to find survivors amid the rubble of collapsed homes in remote mountain villages in Morocco following the most violent earthquake the country has witnessed in more than six decades.
The earthquake struck the High Atlas Mountains region late on Friday evening, damaging historic buildings in Marrakesh, the closest city to the epicenter, while most of the victims fell in the mountainous areas to the south.
