Head of the Egyptian Association - Arab Union of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities- Sherif Ged sent a congratulatory message to the Russian Ambassador to Cairo, H.E. Georgiy Borisenko, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Russia.
Ged mentioned in his message that the previous eight decades have witnessed progress in cooperation between the two countries, noting the nuclear reactor in Dabaa, and the Russian industrial zone in the Canal Zone have also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration.
Meanwhile, Dr. Fathi Toghan, Secretary General of the Alumni Association, indicated that the presence of the largest Russian community in the Middle East in Egyptian territory stands as a key element of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.
He noted that the Russian community in Egypt became an integral part of the Egyptian population, and their families have also built a golden bridge between the two cultures.
Toghan said that the status that Russia enjoys in the place of Egyptians can be noticed among simple people and intellectuals alike, expressing his aspiration for further cooperation between Egyptians and Russians in the coming period.
