The Relief Organization "Doctors Without Borders" announced that more than 90 Libyan migrants drowned while trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe on an overcrowded boat.

The organization stated that an oil tanker rescued in the early hours of Saturday morning 4 migrants in the Mediterranean, who confirmed that they were passengers of the doomed boat that set off from the coast of Libya last week, with about 100 other migrants on board.

The organization indicated that the tanker did not respond to its appeal not to return the migrants to Libya, warning that they face detention and ill-treatment without a doubt.

The organization urged Italy and Malta to provide a safe place for the survivors and called on the European Border Protection Agency "Frontex" and other EU agencies to reveal the details of the incident.
