Mongolia’s Prime Minister Gombojavyn Zandanshatar has resigned from his post, according to China Central Television.
The broadcaster reported that Zandanshatar formally stepped down from office, only months after taking the position in June following his nomination by the ruling Mongolian People’s Party, which secured a parliamentary majority in the 2024 elections.
Zandanshatar, who studied finance and economics at the Irkutsk Institute of National Economy (now Baikal State University) between 1987 and 1992, previously served as Speaker of Parliament from 2019 to 2024.
Earlier this year, he was appointed Chief of Staff to the President of Mongolia before becoming Prime Minister.
His resignation marks another political shift within Mongolia’s ruling party as the country faces ongoing economic challenges and efforts to strengthen its governance and international partnerships.
