Members of the Arab Parliament voted in favor of Mohammed Al-Yamahi during the procedural session to select a new speaker, succeeding former president Adel Al-Assoumi.
The session also includes the swearing-in of new Arab Parliament members, followed by the election of the president and two vice-presidents. Lists for the permanent committee formations will be presented, after which the heads and deputies of these committees will be elected.
The permanent committees will then hold their meetings, including the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Political and National Security; the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs; the Committee on Legislative, Legal Affairs, and Human Rights; and the Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Affairs.
