Mohammad Mohaddessin, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said that the Iranian regime’s recent attacks on several Arab countries once again reveal its expansionist nature and its strategy of destabilizing the region in order to impose its influence.
In a post on X, Mohaddessin stated that the latest attacks on Arab states “leave no room for doubt” that the regime’s objective is to undermine the security of these countries and dominate them. He added that what is taking place today is not an isolated development, but a continuation of the same policy the ruling regime in Tehran has pursued for 47 years.
Mohaddessin said that domestic repression, the export of terrorism abroad, interference in the affairs of regional countries, and the pursuit of nuclear weapons are all core pillars of the mullahs’ strategy for survival. He stressed that the regime will not abandon any of these pillars as long as it remains in power.
He pointed to the Iranian regime’s long record in the region as evidence of this strategy, beginning with the Iran-Iraq War and continuing through the establishment of Hezbollah and Iraqi militias under the direct supervision of Ali Khamenei in 1982. He also referred to Tehran’s efforts to impose its influence over several Arab capitals, including Baghdad, Beirut, Damascus, and Sana’a, as well as the creation of networks and cells linked to the regime in other Arab countries.
According to Mohaddessin, this policy of domination is not new. He said it also reflects the legacy of the Shah’s regime, which sought to act as the “policeman of the region” and impose hegemony over neighboring countries.
The NCRI foreign affairs chief emphasized that the only way to end the crises and conflicts caused by the Iranian regime is through regime change. However, he underlined that this objective cannot be achieved through foreign war or through a policy of appeasement and concessions.
Mohaddessin referred to the position repeatedly expressed by Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI, who has stressed that the real solution lies in relying on the uprising of the Iranian people and their organized resistance. He said these are the forces capable of bringing down the religious dictatorship and restoring peace, stability, and relations of friendship and cooperation to the region.
He concluded that peace and freedom are two sides of the same coin, a cause for which the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has struggled for 61 years.
The remarks come amid growing regional concern over Tehran’s aggressive conduct, its use of proxy militias, and its continued efforts to export internal crises beyond Iran’s borders. For the Iranian Resistance, the central message remains clear: neither war nor appeasement can resolve the threat posed by the regime; the decisive factor is the Iranian people and their organized resistance.
