A source within the Egypt national football team confirmed that Mohamed Salah, star of Liverpool FC, will not join the Pharaohs’ training camp ahead of their friendly match against Spain national football team on March 31.
The source denied recent reports suggesting otherwise, stressing that Salah is currently following a rehabilitation program with his club after suffering a recent muscle injury, and was already ruled out when the squad list was announced.
Egypt are set to face Saudi Arabia national football team on March 27 at King Fahd International Stadium in Jeddah at 7:30 PM Cairo time, as part of their March training camp under head coach Hossam Hassan.
The technical staff aims to assess player readiness in the Saudi Arabia clash before taking on Spain, with Salah’s absence seen as a key setback.
The match against Saudi Arabia will be broadcast exclusively in Egypt on the ON Sport network.
