Mohamed Ramadan Comments on Suspended Pilot Ashraf Aboul-Yosr's Death

Superstar Mohamed Ramadan mourned the death of Suspended Pilot Ashraf Aboul-Yosr, who passed away on Saturday after a battle with the disease.

"To Allah, we belong and to Him, we shall return.... Pilot Ashraf Aboul-Yosr passed away," Ramadan posted on "Facebook".

"May God Almighty bless him with the breadth of his mercy and inspire his family with patience and solace," he added.

On Saturday, the Egyptian suspended pilot Ashraf Aboul Yousr died at an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), after suffering a severe health problem.

Last week, the Cairo Economic Court awarded the deceased pilot LE6 million in his lawsuit against Egyptian actor and singer Mohamed Ramadan, wherein Aboul Yousr demand LE25 million in damages.

The lawyer representing Aboul Yousr, Magdy Helmy, stated that his client suffered material and moral damages after Ramadan published a picture on social media in a plane’s cockpit in October 2019.

The lawsuit alleges that Ramadan used the image to promote his new song “Mesh Batfatesh fel Matar” (I am Not Searched at the Airport), which included the image of him piloting the plane.

The Civil Aviation Authority suspended Aboul Yousr and his co-pilot and referred them to urgent interrogation for violating the rules of international and Egyptian civil aviation, and for potentially endangering passengers.

In July 2020, Egypt’s Dokki Misdemeanor Court sentenced Ramadan to one year in prison, LE10,000 bail and a LE20,000 fine for the photo.

The Dokki Misdemeanor Appellant Court in Giza accepted an appeal filed by Ramadan later against his sentence of one year in prison with LE10,000 bail and a LE20,000 fine over tarnishing the reputation of the former pilot.
