Mounir Mourns Sadiq Al Mahdi's Death

Iconic Egyptian singer Mohamed Mounir "The King" mourned the death of the Sudanese leader Sadiq Al Mahdi.

Al Mahdi passed away yesterday due to a severe COVID-19 infection.

Mounir posted a photo of him with Al Mahdi during the former's visit to the latter. He wrote, "the loyal and honest Al Mahdi is dead. A real icon of resistance passed away in a hard time."

Next, he sent his condolences to Al Mahdi's family and to the Sudanese people.

It is worthy to mention that Sudan announced today a three-day mourning period over the death of Al Mahdi.

In an official statement, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdouk said, "The transitional government declared 3-day mourning, and ordered flags to be flown at half mist at all state facilities, institutions, and Sudanese embassies, over the death of former Prime Minister Sadiq Al Mahdi, and leader of National Umma Party.”
