Everything You Need to Know About Mohamed Diab, Marvel's Next Director

Egyptian director and screenwriter Mohamed Diab was chosen as "Moon Knight", Marvel's next big project's director. The series is set to premier sometime in 2022 on Disney's new platform Disney+ and will revolve around a superhero who gains the powers of the Egyptian God of the Moon.

Who is Mohamed Diab ?

Diab is an Egyptian writer and director whose work often centers on around ongoing issues concerning Egyptian society. He is known for his directorial debut film Cairo 678 and wrote blockbuster (El Gezera).

He was born in 1978 and graduated from the College of Commerce and Business Administration. After completing his studies, he went to work in a multinational bank in Cairo, but discovered that the field wasn't his true passion.

Diab had a passion for writing for some time before he went to directing, where he participated in a group of works as a screen writer.

Because of his great love for writing, he left his job and in 2005 set out to study the art of screenwriting at the New York Film Academy.

Diab wrote several blockbuster movies including "Alf Mabrook", "Real Dreams", "El Gezira", "Tale Senay" . He also wrote several soap operas including "Tae"

His film Eshtebak (Clash) was an official selection at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, in the Un Certain Regard category.
