Christopher McQuarrie, the director of “Mission Impossible 7”, talked Sunday on social media about his filming experience in Abu Dhabi.

McQuarrie has been in the UAE’s capital to film scenes for the latest installment in the franchise.

“Of the many challenges we’ve faced on our journey, none will be greater than outshining the gifts Abu Dhabi has given us,” he wrote on Instagram.

McQuarrie also thanked all those who helped the director and his team to shoot the movie.

"Now back to London for a few finishing touches. All aboard for our greatest challenge yet," he concluded.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise is reprising his role as the seemingly indestructible globe-trotting secret agent Ethan Hunt in real life as well as in the seventh and eighth follow-ups of the hugely successful franchise “Mission Impossible”.

The seventh installment in the hugely successful franchise was one of the first to be hit by delays caused by the pandemic when its Venice film set was shut by the Italian government days before filming was due to start in February 2020.

The production resumed shooting with new precautions in place in August, with a minor pump following the stuntman’s explosion.

The movie is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and starring Rebecca Ferguson, Nicholas Hoult, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and more.

“Mission: Impossible 7” was scheduled to arrive on July 21, 2021, but will now hit theaters on November 19, 2021.

Meanwhile, “Mission: Impossible 8” was pushed back from its August 5, 2022 date and will instead debut on November 4, 2022.
