Iraqi media reported on Friday that the vicinity of the US embassy in Baghdad was subjected to a missile attack.
"Shafaq News" website reported, quoting a security source, that "the vicinity of the United States Embassy in the fortified Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, was subjected to a missile attack."
Up to ten missiles were fired toward the Baghdad Green Zone, with about six of them aimed at the US Embassy.
It is noteworthy that since the start of the escalation in the Gaza Strip last October, American bases in Syria and Iraq have been subjected to almost daily attacks by drones and missiles, especially in light of the military and diplomatic support that Washington provides to Israel.
The Pentagon revealed that American forces had been subjected to 78 attacks in Syria and Iraq since October 17, resulting in 66 non-serious injuries.
