Late Wednesday, a man was shot dead in a gunfire exchange in Minneapolis city, during a traffic stop, according to Reuters.
He is the first man killed by a member of the department since the death of George Floyd, an African-American who died after a police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was mandated to investigate the incident. Details about the identity, background, or race of the dead man have not yet been revealed.
It is worth mentioning that, Minneapolis saw widespread demonstrations against police brutality and racism that gradually spread across the US and the rest of the world following the May 25 death of Floyd.
