The Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowments has dispatched 20 tons of food supplies to the residents of Gaza. This contribution is part of the "Food Voucher Project" and aligns with Egypt's broader efforts to support the Palestinian people in Gaza. The aid was delivered to the Red Crescent at the Rafah crossing on the evening of February 27, 2024, for distribution among the families in need.

To date, the total assistance provided by the Ministry to the people of Gaza includes 70 tons of meat and 320 tons of various food items. Additionally, financial contributions have been made, including thirty million Egyptian pounds implemented by the "Tahya Misr" (Long Live Egypt) fund, and food supplies worth sixty million Egyptian pounds previously donated. In total, the aid from the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowments to Gaza's residents in the form of food and financial assistance exceeds one hundred and ten million Egyptian pounds.

In a related development, Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, the Minister of Religious Endowments, approved the appointment of three prominent religious figures to serve in mosques abroad during the holy month of Ramadan. These appointments include:

Sheikh Ibrahim Masad Abdel Hamid Beltagy, an Imam and preacher from the Cairo Religious Endowments Directorate, assigned to serve as an Imam at Al-Ansar Mosque in Laval, Quebec, Canada.

Sheikh Farghali Mouawad Sayed Mashal, an Imam and preacher from the Asyut Religious Endowments Directorate, designated to serve in the Maldives.

Sheikh Ayman Adel Mustafa Abdel Hafeez, a member of the Egyptian Reciters' Syndicate, to serve as a reciter at the Tariq Ibn Ziyad Mosque Association in Frankfurt, Germany.

These appointments are part of the ministry's initiative to send 91 Imams and reciters abroad to lead the Ramadan nights' prayers for the year 1445H / 2024AD, fostering a sense of community and spiritual connection among Muslims during the holy month.
