Ministry of Foreign Affairs follows up on death of Egyptian citizen in Dubia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad is following up on the death of Egyptian citizen Diaa El-Din Shalaby Mohamed El-Awady, after the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Dubai received notification from Dubai Police of his death in one of the UAE's hotels.

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, asked the Egyptian Consulate General in Dubai to maintain continuous communication with the relevant Emirati authorities to ascertain the circumstances of the incident, follow up on related procedures, and expedite the necessary arrangements for repatriating the body.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also coordinating with the deceased's family and their lawyer. Ambassador Haddad El-Gohary, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs, is scheduled to meet with the deceased's wife and family members at the Ministry headquarters to complete the necessary consular procedures, offer condolences, and reaffirm the Ministry's commitment to follow up on this case until all related procedures are finalized.
