Higher Education Minister Heads to Portugal to Partake in Europe-Africa Earth Observation Forum

On Wednesday, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar traveled to the capital of Portugal, Lisbon to participate in the two-day conference on space as an enabler for digital and green transitions, with earth observation fostering sustainable development, new skills, and job creation, according to the Ministery of Higher Education.

In this regard, the Egyptian Minister and his Portugaless counterpart will join on Thursday a number of business leaders, diplomats from Africa and Europe, educational experts, Vice President of the Foundation for Science in Portugal (FCT) as well as development specialists at the Lisbon Earth Talk to share investment best practices and outline how to accelerate the green transition in the context of EU-African relations.

In a statement, the Ministery of Higher Education said: "Abdel Ghaffar and his counterpart will sign a cooperation protocol  to enhance the global competitiveness of Egypt's education system."

"This protocol aims to renew Egypt's education system to contribute to supporting and developing the Scientific Research industry," the statement added.
