On Thursday, the Minister of Defense General Mohamed Zaki and the Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Osama Askar, alongside other Armed Forces leaders congratulated Pope Tawadros on Christmas.
The leaders visited the pope at the papal headquarters at St Mark's Cathedral in Abbassiya.
On his side, Zaki asserted that Egypt's national unity is the essence of the country's strength. He added that the Armed Forces are ready to make any sacrifices to preserve the security and stability of Egypt.
Moreover, they will be major contributors to building and establishing a bright future for Egypt, Zaki described.
He also expressed his appreciation for the strong situation of Pope Tawadros II.
On his side, Pope Tawadros II praised the national role of the Egyptian Army and their sacrifices for preserving Egypt's security and stability.
He asserted that the whole Egyptians are united for achieving Egypt's sustainable development.
The Pope also described Christmas as a representation of hope and a bright future for Egypt.
