Minister of Culture Discusses Details of Honoring Mahmoud Reza

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, the Minister of Culture, artist Khaled Jalal-head of the cultural production sector, artist Adel Abdo- head of the Artistic House of Folk and Performing Arts and Dr. Mahmoud Salah, director of Reda Folkloric Troupe met to discuss the details of organizing a festivity in the love of Mahmoud Reda to honor his name as a famous choreographer.

 

Reda is regarded as one of the pioneers of the Egyptian folkloric dancing and as the founder of Reda Troupe.

 

Abdel Dayem said that the late Reda is one of the legends of folk arts who succeeded in changing the social perspective concerning folkloric arts, documenting his designs as a part of Egypt's artistic memory and heritage.

 

She added that the festivity is scheduled to be held at Al-Balloon Theater, including a special rich program that suits the value and the rank of the late artist.

 

The program will present many of his creative works presented over the course of his artistic career, embodying the features of folklore in various governorates.

 

She indicated that the ministry has already celebrated Reda in the 60th anniversary of founding Reda Troupe in December last year.

 

The minister stressed the continuous efforts to honor the geniuses’ icons of Egypt who enriched the artistic and intellectual movement with their distinguished production.

 

The minister affirmed the importance of respecting the precautionary measures in various locations during holding the activities that have resumed for the good and safety of public, confirming the preparation of the second phase of the resumption of activities in various cultural sectors.
