This noon, Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram met with German Ambassador Cyril Noon and discussed enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Germany.
According to an official statement, both sides discussed several issues of common interest.
During the meeting, Makram emphasized the importance of the close relations between Egypt and Germany, as well as the presence of a large and skilled Egyptian community there.
The minister reviewed with the ambassador the ministry’s efforts in several files, the most important of which is linking experts and scholars to their homeland, Egypt, and benefiting from their experiences through a series of "Egypt Can" conferences.
Egypt Can by Industry:
In her speech, the minister touched on the dialogue seminars that were held in light of the preparation for the sixth edition of these conferences entitled "Egypt Can by Industry".
On her part, Dr. Mina Qaldas, an Egyptian engineer at Ford Motor Company and one of the most important Egyptian expert in Germany attended the third symposium on "the Localization of the Auto Industry in Egypt,".
The minister pointed out the need for cooperation with Germany in the field of industry, specifically the auto industry, because Germany is a major industrial country and has global experiences that must be benefited from, as well as cooperation in order to reach the largest number of Egyptian experts there who have a prominent role in the service of the German state.
She cited the international expert tunnels, engineer Hani Azar, residing in Germany, who participated in the implementation of several major engineering projects there.
The minister also reviewed the implementation of the "Survival Boats" initiative, announced by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi who assigned the Ministry of Immigration directly to combat illegal immigration in the governorates that suffer from this phenomenon and spread awareness about its dangers.
She referred to the cooperation resulted from that initiative, cooperation with other ministries, state institutions, civil society organizations and international organizations, most notably the opening of the Egyptian German Center for Migration, Jobs and Reintegration for training and qualifying Egyptian cadres that meet the needs of the German market.
The minister also reviewed the ministry's tireless efforts in caring for Egyptians abroad and linking young people to their motherland based on the belief in their external role towards it amid all the various challenges, whether from the second and third generations of Egyptian immigrants or young Egyptians studying abroad.
Efforts of the ministry include visiting historical and tourist attractions to Egypt, and getting acquainted with the development projects being implemented, holding meetings with government officials.
The ministry invites Egyptians abroad to attend courses in national security to correct any false concepts or ideas that they may encounter them abroad.
It also works to link them to the original Egyptian customs, traditions and values and confronting the war of obliterating the Arab and Egyptian identity by launching the initiative "I speak Arabic." This initiative has been sponsored by the President of the Republic.
On his part, Noon, expressed his happiness to meet the Minister of Immigration.
Noon appreciated her efforts to benefit from the close relations between Egypt and Germany and bring the two peoples closer, especially since German society embraces a large number of Egyptian actors and influencers.
The German ambassador also welcomed cooperation with the ministry within the framework of the "Egypt Can by Industry" conference.
He recommended cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, as well as a visit to the joint technical training center between Siemens and the Agency for International Cooperation - located in the Ain Sokhna region - to see the available expertise and equipment. Cadres at the highest level of efficiency.
The minister and the ambassador also agreed to further cooperation in the field of combating illegal immigration and to conduct periodic visits for delegations from Egypt and Germany after the end of the global Corona pandemic.
They stressed that the successful German-Egyptian cooperation contributes to building bridges between the two countries.
