Min of Environment Applies Inspections on Medical Faculties

The Egyptian Ministry of Environment launched inspection campaigns on hospitals and medical laboratories in Cairo and Giza governorates, amounting to 93 addresses within 48 hours.

The campaign comes as part of a plan drawn up by the Ministry since the beginning of the crisis of Coronavirus "Covid 19" and its emergence in Egypt at the end of last February, as it aims to limit the spread of the virus through environmental sectors that bear a large part of the responsibility for people's health, the dumps led by the Inspection and Environmental Compliance Department focused on means Handling and transporting medical waste, hazardous waste and disposal procedures completely, as taking the most important environmental safety conditions in medical facilities.

Solid waste management is also conducting daily follow-up campaigns to control garbage dumps in the neighborhoods of Cairo and Giza governorates, in addition to following up on the work of removing waste from the streets regularly in cooperation with the General Authority for Cleaning and Beautification of Cairo.

As for the other governorates, the Ministry of Environment bodies, through the National Solid Waste Program, managed to despose approximately 6,926 tons of waste in the governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh / Assiut / Qena / Gharbia, in coordination with the Ministry of Local Development, and cleaners were educated about the need to use tools Prevention and disinfection while dealing with waste or during the disinfection of containers and equipment, along with training in dealing with waste residues from masks and gloves.

 

The Ministry also appealed to the citizens in a special statement for it to follow the instructions and adhere to the general preventive measures launched by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Health, taking care not to throw waste in public places and places, especially preventive waste.
