Min. of Culture meets Regional Director of UNESCO Office in Cairo

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, met with Dr. Nuria Sanz, Regional Director of the UNESCO Office in Cairo, and her accompanying delegation, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the Ministry and the organization, in various cultural fields. 

The meeting focused on cooperation between the two sides to celebrate international days during the coming period, including: “Peace Day, Poetry Day, Intangible Cultural Heritage Day,” as well as celebrating civil society organizations that were recently adopted by the Convention for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage.

The Minister of Culture stressed that Egypt considers intangible cultural heritage an area for expressing mutual respect among cultures at the regional and international levels. 

For her part, Dr. Nuria Sanz expressed her happiness at this important meeting, stressing the importance of bilateral cooperation with Egypt, and providing the necessary support for all cultural projects. 

Sanz stressed that culture has become a source of national income for many countries, and explained that the organization is open to cooperation in many fields.
