American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus dropped Thursday her new single "Flowers" on YouTube.
In her latest track, the Voice alum sings about being able to "love me better than you can."
Cyrus seems to call out an ex about how they "built a home and watched it burn / I didn't want to leave / I didn't want to lie / Started to cry but then remembered I / I can buy myself flowers."
The video shows her working out and gaining her strength, embracing her self-love and independence after a split.
The song comes nearly two weeks after Cyrus first dropped hints about her return to music, sharing a sneak peek of the single on December 31.
In her original announcement posted to Instagram, the 30-year-old revealed the release date of the track would be January 13—which also just so happens to be her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth's birthday.
In subsequent posts, Cyrus noted her single would debut during different time zones, kickstarting January 12 in the U.S. and January 13 in other parts of the world simultaneously—including Liam's native Australia.
The "wrecking ball" singer did not comment on whether her latest song was meant to debut on her ex's birthday dispute the lyrics speak of self-love reigning supreme over a seemingly ill-fated romance.
After dating on and off for nearly a decade, the former couple tied the knot in 2018. In November of that year, their house in Malibu burned down in a wildfire.
Less than a year later, the Hunger Games star, 32, filed for divorce.
