Microsoft announced that it successfully resolved a major outage of its Microsoft 365 services, which caused widespread interruptions for millions of users worldwide.
In an official update shared on its Service Status page X account, the tech giant explained that the disruption was caused by a “misconfigured network component in North America.
Microsoft confirmed that engineers were able to identify the issue and fully restore all affected services.
According to Reuters, the outage, which lasted several hours, impacted key services such as Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online, distributing communication and collaboration systems across numerous companies and organizations that rely on these tools for daily operations.
As user complaints surged, the monitoring website DownDetector, which tracks service disruptions, reported a significant drop in outage reports from 17,000 at the peak of the incident to just 136.
