Microsoft announced that Internet Explorer (IE) will stop working on the most recent versions of Windows 10 from June 15, media outlets reported on Monday.

However, Microsoft plans to replace the IE with PCs Edge. So, when users hit the internet button on their desktop, they will work according to the Chromium-based Edge.

Experts at Microsoft indicated that IE software will work in the Edge browser until 2029. The company has also stressed that some of the browser's unique features will be available in Edge Compatibility Mode.

The first announcement was made in 2020 when Microsoft pointed out that it would end IE in November, warning organizations or users still using it.

However, a large pool of users have remained loyal to Internet Explorer, forcing Microsoft to take additional steps to incentivize switching to the new Chromium-based Edge, according to Tech News.
