American actor, Michael B. Jordan and his production company, Outlier Society, are developing a Black Superman a limited series for HBO Max.
The project is based on the DC character, Val-Zod, a Black incarnation of Superman from Earth-2.
The series is currently at an early stage of development with a writer hired recently.
This comes after reports circulated earlier this year that J.J. Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates are developing a Black Superman story for Warner Bros, with Jordan rumored to be playing the role.
The "Black Panther" star previously discussed the rumors, describing them as “flattering”.
Abrams’ movie, which is separate from the series, will cast a Black actor in the lead role, though it will focus on Kal-El/Clark Kent.
