On Tuesday, Mexico authorities declared three-day national mourning for the metro disaster, according to a decree by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López.
In the same context, López expressed his deepest condolences to the Mexican grieving families on the casualties of the Mexico metro accident that took place, Sunday in the southeastern part of Mexico City.
On the other hand, the Mayor of Mexico City Claudia Scheinbaum took to Twitter and said: "My position is that we need to reach the truth."
She also said earlier on Tuesday: "We need experts from the federal justice as well as an external and unbiased team to conduct the investigation and all the reports that need to be done and get to the truth."
It's worth mentioning that the Mexico City subway train overpass collapsed onto a busy road below on Monday night, killing a number of people, including children, according to RT.
According to the Mexican latest reports, the tragedy took the lives of 24 people, including three patients who succumbed to their injuries in Mexican hospitals. At least 79 citizens were injured, 27 of them remain under medical supervision.
