The Minister of Higher Education, and Scientific Research and the one who is shouldering the responsibility of the Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced that all vaccination spots in underground metro stations started to work on Saturday.
He added that currently there are two vaccination spots in the Al Sadat Station where more than 500 citizens received their vaccine doses.
Another 14 vaccination cabinets will be installed in transmission stations such as the Al Sadat, the Al Shohadaa, and the Al Ataba stations, alongside another 8 vaccination spots in stations that are visited by the majority of metro services users such as the Shubra Al Khiema, the New El Marg, the Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the Helwan stations.
In the same context, Abdel Ghaffar revealed that there are 97 spots for helping residents to register to the website dedicated to receiving vaccination requests.
After that, he described that there 4 medical teams, data entry, and a communication team for assisting those who want to have the vaccine.
On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 929 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 343026.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 19435 nationwide after the ministry announced 69 deaths.
About 543 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 286891.
