Meta's Threads launched a desktop version of the application on Tuesday as one of the highly anticipated updates for the users.

The update, which has been by users since Threads’ launch last month, may help spark the rivalry once again with X (Twitter), and could help to retain the user growth following the declining activity.

Meta added that Threads users can enjoy logging in, posting, and interacting with other posts via a browser on a desktop computer.

The company says it plans to add more desktop features in the future, after the tests of the early desktop version.

CNN had made early access to the desktop version and reported that they posted something on the desktop version, but couldn't scroll the home feed.

Threads launched in early July and gained 100 million sign-ups in its first week. But the buzz faded as the users complained due to the absence of many features that made Twitter everyone's favorite like trending, search functions, direct messaging, and spaces.
