Mercedes-Benz unveiled by the German automaker on Monday, the Visions AVTR project that based on the sci-fi movie, Avatar. The colors match, it has a 'touch and go' mechanism to kick-start the vehicle.
Its combined engine power can create over 350 kW — a new benchmark for EQ power. Furthermore, the revolutionary battery technology is based on graphene-based organic cell chemistry and thus completely eliminates rare, toxic, and expensive earths such as metals, explained Mercedes-Benz.
The AVTR's sideways movements are unlike anything else with four wheels and, because of the position of the central controller, the passenger can easily take over driving duties. This all happens in silence, of course, thanks to the AVTR's fully electric drivetrain with a total power output of 469 horsepower.
For the first time, the Vision AVTR concept vehicle is using a revolutionary battery technology based on graphene-based organic cell chemistry that is completely clean of rare earths and metals. The materials of the battery are compostable and therefore completely recyclable, according to the firm.
In this way, electric mobility becomes independent of fossil resources. As a result, Mercedes-Benz underlines the high relevance of a future circular economy in the raw materials sector.
According to CarBuZZ, the designer Alexander Dang details one of the AVTR's most notable exterior features a series of 33 "bionic flaps" on the back that are movable in multiple directions. They give the car a uniquely expressive look, have aerodynamic benefits and change their movements based on braking and other driver actions.
The rounded lines remind of the stunning Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS, but the AVTR is even more dramatic. For Dang, the AVTR's design began with a few sketches when the team watched the film together as a source of inspiration.
Later,. Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers confirmed that the new model of the company from 2021 will be electrified and all next AMGs versions will feature an all wheel-drive layout.
Moers explained that the V12 engines will very soon be a thing of the past for Mercedes-AMG and having a high powered competitive V12 would be a new engine.
There is turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine with as much as 420 horsepower. It will likely be followed shortly by other 45” cars based on the A-Class Sedan, CLA, and GLA plus maybe a GLB 45.
The Daimler pision responsible for fast cars already has quite a few hybrid models in its lineup already, including the six cylinder 53 cars and the F1 engined One hypercar.
