Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud celebrated Saturday the second anniversary of the hit 2019 live-action remake of "Aladdin".
Massoud shared on Instagram new footage from the behind-the-scenes of the movie and captioned: "Two years later and I still get people telling me they’re only watching Aladdin now! Here’s a little behind the scene look at the making. Hope we get to do it again soon!".

It was reported in February that the live-action remake is getting a sequel. This came after the tremendous success the movie had achieved, which had grossed $1 billion revenues worldwide and become the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2019, and the 34th highest-grossing film of all-time during its theatrical run.
It was also listed as the fourth live-action adaptation to cross the billion-dollar global box office milestone following, “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
The remake was based on Disney’s 1992 animated movie, which itself is based on the eponymous tale from One Thousand and One Nights.
It featured Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Billy Magnussen, Alan Tudyk, Nasim Pedrad, Marwan Kenzari, Numan Acar, Frank Welker, Navid Negahban, Navid Negahban, Ocean Navarro, Kamil Lemieszewski, Sophie Carmen-Jones, and Adam Collins.
The live-action adaptation was directed by Guy Ritchie, who co-wrote its screenplay with John August.
The plot revolved around the poor market boy who, with a little help from a genie in a lamp, marries Princess Jasmine.
