The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the expulsion of the Israeli delegation from the opening ceremony of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, today, Saturday, blaming South Africa and Algeria for this diplomatic move.

"Israel is looking very seriously at the expulsion of Ambassador Sharon Barley, the Israeli deputy foreign minister for African affairs, from the African Union hall, despite her status at the summit as an accredited observer, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

The Israeli ministry added that Ambassador Barley had possessed entry cards.

The MENA pointed out that during the opening ceremony of the African summit, a group of security men approached the Israeli delegation and asked them to leave at once, and the head of the Israeli delegation, Sharon Barley, appeared in video clips taken there leaving with the members of the delegation after minutes of talking with the security men.
