On Sunday, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has given birth to her second child with Prince Harry, welcoming daughter Lilibet in California, the couple's press secretary said in a statement.
"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their
daughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," the statement added. "Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home."
The couple said they named their second child Lilibet after the Royal Family's nickname for the Queen, the baby's great-grandmother.
Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her "beloved late grandmother", the Princess of Wales, the statement said.
She is the Queen's 11th great-grandchild and is eighth in line to the throne.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted his "many congratulations" to the couple and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer welcomed the "wonderful news".
