I express my appreciation to Engineer Khaled Abdel-Aziz, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR), his board of directors, and the Sports Media Performance Monitoring Committee, for the decision to exempt channels that requested to be excluded from broadcast regulation hours. This was to align with the broadcast times of the matches on May 9 and 16, allowing for the coverage of the CAF Confederation Cup final between Zamalek and USM Alger. This allows citizens to follow both matches on their favorite channels, ensuring that coverage is not limited to factional or purely sports-specialized channels.

In the clutter of controls and regulations, and the forest of numbers and legal articles, we rarely find a decision that touches a human chord for millions. However, the SCMR's decision to extend live broadcast hours for the Confederation Cup final was biased toward the people's right to joy, and an acknowledgment that media is a mirror for the public's feelings. This decision is not uncommon to the Council's philosophy, which has appeared in previous decisions. The entity is always keen on prioritizing the public interest and the human dimension in major national and sporting events. Just as happened in previous CAF Champions League finals, as flexibility was shown in opening broadcast durations during electoral epics and national occasions, this exception comes to confirm that rational management is the one which possesses the ability to "unify" with society. It recognizes that behind the screens are hearts waiting for a moment of crowning. The responsiveness of Engineer Khaled Abdel-Aziz and the Sports Media Performance Monitoring Committee to the channels' requests reflects a deep awareness of the nature of sports matches, which may extend to penalty shootouts and crowning ceremonies. This is an approach that consolidates the concept of media that builds bridges; the Council chose to be a partner in the event, a supporter of the national spirit, and appreciative of the passion of a father waiting for his team's victory, and the young man who sees football as an outlet for joy. This step, and the similar decisions that preceded it, have proven that the media system in Egypt realizes that the value of a decision lies in its human impact. Flexible coordination between regulatory bodies and broadcasting channels ultimately serves the viewer's interest, ensuring their right to knowledge and emotional participation. Thus, the media remains a constant companion to Egyptians at every moment, confirming that laws were created to serve and bring happiness to humans.I thank the Supreme council for Media Regulation for its decision, and I hope for many similar decisions in the future.
