The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has extended its sincere condolences to the Qatar and the Türkiye following the deaths of seven people in a helicopter crash in Qatari territorial waters.
In a statement, the council said the victims were killed after the helicopter experienced a technical malfunction while carrying out a routine mission. The deceased included members of the Qatari Armed Forces and personnel from the joint Qatari-Turkish forces.
The council expressed its solidarity with the governments and peoples of Qatar and Türkiye, as well as with the families of the victims, describing the incident as a painful tragedy. It also conveyed prayers for mercy for the deceased and patience and comfort for their relatives.
