The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has extended its congratulations to the Arab and Islamic nations and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the New Hijri Year 1448 AH.
In a statement marking the beginning of the Islamic year, the council described the Prophet Muhammad’s Hijrah (migration) as a timeless source of inspiration, reflecting values of patience, perseverance, faith, and devotion to the common good.
The council said the legacy of the Hijrah continues to offer lessons in building societies based on mercy, justice, fraternity, and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing the importance of drawing upon those principles to address contemporary challenges.
On the occasion, the Muslim Council of Elders called for strengthening the values of tolerance and human fraternity and intensifying joint efforts to promote peace, reinforce stability, and safeguard human dignity across the world.
The organization expressed hope that the New Hijri Year would bring goodness, security, prosperity, and peace to people everywhere, while encouraging greater cooperation among nations and communities in support of mutual understanding and harmony.
