MCE Condemns Terrorist Attack on Niger Airport

The Muslim Council of Elders has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey, the capital of Niger, reaffirming its rejection of violence and terrorism in all forms.

In a statement issued Thursday, the council described the attack as a threat to the security and stability of societies and called for stronger international cooperation to confront extremist ideologies and hate speech that fuel violence and instability.

The organization stressed the importance of promoting the values of dialogue, tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding as key elements in preventing extremism and building more secure and resilient communities.

The council also expressed its condolences to the government and people of Niger and to the families of those killed in the attack. It wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

The Muslim Council of Elders reiterated its commitment to advancing the principles of human fraternity and peace and emphasized the need for coordinated international efforts to address the root causes of extremism and strengthen global stability.
