The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Ahmed Al-Tayeb, strongly condemned what it described as a treacherous Iranian missile attack targeting the United Arab Emirates, calling for firm international action to prevent further escalation.
In a statement issued Thursday, the council said the attack resulted in the deaths of two civilians of Pakistani and Indian nationalities and injuries to three others from Emirati, Jordanian, and Indian backgrounds after shrapnel fell following the successful interception of an Iranian ballistic missile aimed at the capital, Abu Dhabi.
The council reiterated its categorical rejection of such attacks and expressed full solidarity with the UAE, as well as with Gulf states and neighboring Arab and Islamic nations, affirming support for measures taken to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It also urged the international community to adopt a decisive stance to halt attacks and promote peace and stability across the region, particularly amid rising tensions involving Iran.
