The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Ahmed Al-Tayeb, strongly condemned attacks and acts of vandalism targeting the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus and the residence of its head of mission in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
In a statement, the council denounced what it described as unacceptable abuse of the national symbols of the United Arab Emirates, calling the incident a flagrant violation of international norms and diplomatic conventions.
The council reaffirmed its categorical rejection of all forms of violence against diplomatic missions and stressed the importance of respecting international laws that guarantee the protection of diplomatic premises and personnel. It also called for ensuring full protection for diplomats and holding those responsible accountable in order to uphold the rule of law and preserve international relations.
