At least 25 people were injured on Saturday following a powerful gas explosion in a bar in Madrid, according to Spanish emergency services.
The blast occurred on Manuel Maroto Street in the Puente de Vallecas district of the Spanish capital. Authorities confirmed that the explosion severely damaged the bar and affected several apartments located above it.
Officials stated that among the 25 injured, three are in critical condition while others sustained potentially serious injuries. Emergency medical teams are working on-site to stabilize the victims and transfer them to nearby hospitals.
Firefighters, police units, and specialized emergency crews were immediately deployed to the scene. Police dogs and drones have also been used to support search and rescue operations and ensure no further risks remain in the area.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation, but authorities suspect a gas leak triggered the blast.
