Ministry of Energy in Saudi Arabia stated today, on Friday, that a huge fire broke out on Wednesday near a floating unloading platform belonging to the petroleum products distribution station in Jizan, which they handled.
"The fire that broke out near the floating unloading platform of the petroleum products distribution station in Jizan is being dealt with,” according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA". “No injuries or loss of life."
"This terrorist and sabotage act do not target the Kingdom only, but also target the security of petroleum exports, the stability of energy supplies to the world, and the freedom of global trade, affecting maritime navigation, as well as the global economy as a whole," the ministry added.
Riyadh has repeatedly accused the Houthis, as the fire broke out after the Saudi-led Coalition destroyed two booby-trapped boats in the southern Red Sea, launched by the Houthis in Yemen’s western government of Hudaydah on Wednesday.
The Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced, on Wednesday, the interception and destruction of an IED drone launched by the Houthi militia towards Saudi Arabia.
“The Arab Coalition forces have intercepted and destroyed five armed drones launched by Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen targeting Saudi Arabia within 24 hours,” the coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Maliki said late Thursday.
“The drones were systematically and deliberately launched by the terrorist Iran-backed Houthi militias to target civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia,” al-Malik added.
“The terrorist leaders and operatives responsible for the barbaric,” he mentioned. “Terrorist acts will be held accountable in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.”
