Ahmed Mustafa Abdel Wahid, a candidate for the House of Representatives (the Egyptian Parliament), was wounded after an attempt on his life by firing at him in front of his house in the Kom Oshim area in the Governorate of Fayoum.

According to Egyptian media, unknown assailants shot a candidate for parliament, Ahmed Mustafa Abdel Wahid, a candidate on the ticket of the "Homeland Protectors" party, in front of his house in Fayoum, southwest of the Egyptian public, Cairo.

The security services received a report stating that there had been a shooting incident against Abdel Wahid, famously known by Ahmed Al-Ferjani, a  candidate for the House of Representatives (HoR),  who is competing in the run-off round in the third district, located in the centers of Tamiya and Senoras District during his return to his home.

Initial investigations revealed that masked men opened fire on the candidate in front of his house in Sarai Kom Ushim after he returned from following the voting process, and that his brother's son, who was with him, was wounded.

Investigations revealed that the candidate fainted as a result of his car colliding with a huge tree while trying to escape from the shooters.

He and his brother's son were transferred to Al-Hayat Hospital in Fayoum, and the necessary report on the incident was drawn up and transferred to the Public Prosecution which took over the investigation.

The victim confirmed that while he was leaving his home this morning to follow the voting in elections with his nephew, he was shot.

The sources added that a team from the Criminal Investigation Department in the Fayoum Security Directorate went to examine the site of the accident and uncover its circumstances.

It is noteworthy that voting in the run-off round for the Egyptian Parliament elections began on November 23 in the governorates of the first phase.
