Mashat Participates in "FT" Conference on Financing Climate Change

Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, participated in the Financial Times ( FT) Climate Capital Live, the Financial Times Foundation's panel discussion.

The conference aims at bringing together decision-makers and the world's leaders to discuss actionable visions for climate action, innovative finance, and driving global commitments to the transition to a green economy.

This comes within the framework of the Minister of International Cooperation's visit to the British capital, London, where a number of leaders of international financial institutions and government officials are meeting to consolidate joint cooperation.

Lawrence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Action Foundation, Mavalda Duarte, CEO of the Green Climate Investment Fund, moderated by Emilia Michasuk, Climate Editor at the Financial Times.

In her speech, the Minister of International Cooperation spoke about the importance of promoting innovative financing tools as it is absolutely necessary to ensure that the commitments of the COP26 climate summit are transformed into actions at the next COP27 summit, which will be hosted by Sharm El-Sheikh this year.

The Egyptian minister noted the need to provide support for emerging countries to mitigate the consequences of climate change.
