Central Agency for public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued a press release of primary data of manufacturing and extractive industries of production index of November2022.
CAPMAS has updated the index methodology using the base year 2012/2013 and at the level of main indices of industrial activity according to Industrial Activity Manual (ISIC Rev.4) and by using the monthly index (for producer prices based on 2012/2013)That's since January 2020.
Manufacturing and extractive industries index (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) reached 112.43 during November 2022 (primary) compared to 109.97during October2022 (final)increase by 2.24 %.
Economic Activities that witness an increase are as followed:
• The Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparationsreached 123.97during November2022, compared to October2022, reaching 122.34, an increase by 1.33%.
• The Manufacture of wearing apparel;reached111.05 during November2022, compared toOctober2022, reaching 103.92, an increase by 6.86%dueto increase production to cover market needs with the enter of the winter season.
A decrease in the level of the following economic activities:
• Manufacture ofpaper and paper products;reached82.57during November2022, compared toOctober2022, reaching 93.03adecrease by 11.24%,due to the lack of raw materials due to the cessation of imports from abroad.
• Manufacture ofpaper and paper products; reached76.45duringNovember2022, compared toOctober 2022, reaching 78.58adecrease by 2.71%, due to the lack of raw materials due to the cessation of imports from abroad.
